What: You will make 11 different types of cards. o envelopes will be provided. You can purchase envelopes at your local hobby store. More information to be given in class. Who: Open to anyone that is capable of glueing, taping, and following simple instructions for making cards for 6 ½ hours. Members & Non-members alike. How: You will need to contact Mary Ann by email at info.slc.asg@gmail.com and put “Let’s make cards” in the subject line. The deadline is February 14th. Where: Salt Lake County South Building, 2100 S State St., Salt Lake City, Rooms S-1-120 and the South Atrium. (Where we usually have our annual General Meeting.) When: March 22, 2025, Saturday Time: 09:30 am-4:30 pm. Arrive at 09:30 to get seated, order lunch, get your card packets, housekeeping items about the room and building etc. We will start promptly at 10:00am. Cost: $45.00 for ASG members and $50.00 for non-ASG members payable to “ASG” , cash or check. For where to send check contact Barbara at info.slc.asg@gmail.com. No refunds given after the 14th of February. What to bring: Your own paper scissors and a bone folder. Bring your own lunch if not ordering from Subway below. Lunch (optional): $10.00 option. From Subway, any 6” sandwich from the selected menu, chips and 2 cookies-delivered in a box lunch. Bottled water will be available. You will order your sandwich the morning of the event. Please add $10.00 to the price of the class when sending your check or cash to ReNae. *Please note that no paper instructions will be given with the individual card packets. All instructions will be given verbally in class. *No refunds will be given after the Feb 14th deadline. If you cannot attend the class, you have two options: transfer your day to another person knowing that if they are a non-member a $5.00 upcharge will be assessed, or pick up the card packets to be finished by you at home. If you choose to take the packets home, you will be given all the paper pieces to assemble the cards, a small bottle of glue, a roll of double-sided tape, and a roll of double-sided foam tape.

Digitizing Software Before the April machine embroidery meeting you should install both Inkscape and Ink/Stitch on your computer. Inkscape is a free/open-source drawing program. Ink/Stitch is a free/open-source extension to Inkscape that lets it read and write stitch files and aids in converting the drawings into stitch files. To install Inkscape, go to: https://inkscape.org/ and click on the “Download Now” button. That should take you to the installation page for your operating system. Follow the instructions and install Inkscape. For Ink/Stitch, go to: https://inkstitch.org/ and click on the “Installation” link in the left column, then click on the link for your operating system and follow the instructions.
